Very bad. They never help you when you need help, legitimate help with domestic situations such as robbery evidence etc. When you go in to speak to the person at the front desk, they use an intimidating demeanor to even those who innocently need help. When you call to make a complaint about a neighbor being loud after curfew, they don't show. Something needs to change.
Once upon a time there lived loyal, friendly, professional policeman who lived by their mission to protect and serve their communities...not. Well, I guess it's more correct to say that I couldn't be one to say as I've never had the grand pleasure of interacting with every police officer who ever lived. BUT it is safe to say that I've had my fair share of interactions with many officers at this specific department in Selma, Ca apart from this isolated experience today.
I will not get into details of my encounter with her but I will say this: to all citizens of Selma, let your voices be heard! If you are unsatisfied with the service you are being provided, take the time to put in a formal complaint. You are entitled to respect and professionalism.
Using intimidation as a way to prevent me from dealing with my case is FAR from the manner for which you should be treating YOUR customers. Yes, you are working for US. You are not doing us any favors. Your duty is to serve us. The intimidation MUST stop.
I asked for help as I was constantly being threatened and harassed by my neighbor, the office they sent out asked me if I was on drugs? That is the help you can get, nothing
Where to start?
*Policemen, remember why you wear your uniform proudly. Treat your people with respect and compassion and one day, the climate will change.*
Unfortunately I was a victim of intimidation tactics at Selma PD when told by lieutenant Mooridian "Don't come back." With the lack of communication on their part, I was forced to rush to their offices on the daily this week to seek the status of my case which I am completely entitled to do as a tax paying citizen of Selma.
A Ex-Reedley Police Officers Wife accused me of trying to stab her after her husband and another person chased me down and pulled a gun on me all because of her lieing aunt.
I was given the pleasure of encountering a gentlemen with the same issue. Lack of communication and professionalism . He was happy to help me work on a formal complaint at the city hall. I will be speaking with the chief of police and voicing my concerns. This review here is to document the service quality of this department for view of the public.
Currently, policemen in the US hold a bad reputation due to a multitude of findings with police brutality and intimation tactics used across the states.
"MISSION: The misson of the Selma Police Department is to serve and protect all citizens in a respectful, compassionate and professional manner while providing the utmost in human dignity in every circumstance (Selma Police Department, Mission Statement)."
Although Selma has been very fortunate to not have reached that extreme, I am starting to take note on my own findings which need some accountability but most of all CHANGE.
My hope after filing a formal complaint, is to see a change in the way in which the department treats their community.
Selma PD is a joke!! They don't know what they are doing, they don't even know how to handle a crime scene. They need common sense before they decide on a job where they need to Serve and Protect!!! Brainless!! Brainless!
As a victim of a crime here in this small town, I would have thought that I would be treated in the following manner when approached by lieutenant Mooridian:
